ISM 2023

From January 30 to February 2, the International Sweets and Snacks Fair (ISM), took place in Cologne. This important event offered participants from more than 70 countries the unique opportunity to make contacts, discover trends and exchange ideas.

With over 1,600 exhibitors expected, the ISM is the most important meeting place for the entire industry and promises an incomparable experience. The guiding theme “Encourage. Enable. Excite.” underlined the importance of the fair and put the focus on promoting innovations.

Particularly attractive was the New Product Showcase, which is considered the central place for innovations and attracted expert visitors from all over the world. In this special exhibition in Lab5 by ISM in hall 5.2, the product innovations could be examined in numerous showcases.

Our two innovations were also exhibited as a part of the New Product Showcase and provided plenty to talk about at our stand: the Milino Protein Snack and the Milino Coconutmilk Snack.

Protein has established itself as THE mega trend in the nutrition and snacking industry. A heightened awareness of body and nutrition is leading consumers to increasingly reach for protein alternatives, making protein a growth driver in the chilled aisle. We have picked up on this trend and were able to present our first protein bar for the chilled shelf: The Milino Protein Snack allows for a delicious pick-me-up without a guilty conscience. Our chilled protein snack impresses with its creamy, fresh protein milk cream on fluffy sponge cake, covered in a crunchy chocolate coating.

Plant-based products are also becoming increasingly popular in the food market and are experiencing enormous growth in retail. At ISM, another groundbreaking innovation was therefore presented under the Milino brand: The first plant-based, chilled snack based on coconut milk. The Milino Coconutmilk Snack is a delicious and practical snack for everyone who wants to enjoy something tasty between meals – completely without ingredients of animal origin. The fluffy and fresh coconut milk-cream on an airy sponge, coated in a crunchy dark chocolate shell, is a real treat. Furthermore, our plant-based snack is free from palm oil and lactose, contains certified cocoa and no added flavours. The delicious snack, free of animal ingredients, is therefore not only an ideal snack for vegans and vegetarians, but also for all those who eat consciously or suffer from intolerances such as lactose.

Bright, colourful and innovative like the ISM, we were able to present the next hit as a licensee of Universal: The colourful Movie Superstars in the popular Choco variety. Our Milk Snack Choco captivates with its light and airy whole milk cream, the delicate chocolate tongue inside the snack and its crunchy and dark chocolate coating. This top product will appear in the chiller cabinet at POS with designs that change every six months featuring the latest film releases from the Universal movie scene. For the launch, the focus was on the film heroes of the ever-popular Madagascar film series.

In summary, ISM was a very successful trade fair – our next trade fair stop is PLMA in Amsterdam from May 23 to 24 May. We look forward to your visit!
